Had a great opening at the Uptown Espresso Caffe this past Sunday.
I was honored to have many wonderful friends and supporters stop by to see the images and hear the music of my long time friend, pianist Michael Shea and myself.
Great folks like Dance Goddess, Adrienne Hawkins, Great Photographers Lou Jones, Don West and Nate Fried-Lipski, unofficial mayor of the South, End, Bobby Yancey and his nephew the tap dancer and entertainer Tezz, wicked good tenor saxophonist Shawn Berry, old work buddy Matt Anderson, close friends and dedicated fans David and Karen Parker, woman about town, Pat Blakeney, environmental crusader George Mokray, scholar and maven Michael McCarthy, pianist, composer and leader of the Makanda Project, John Kordalewski and a host of others attended. (Please forgive me if you were there and I failed to mention your name.)
The heart of the Uptown, owner Faye Faroughi and staff Christine & Steven made sure everyone had a good time. Many thanks to the Uptown Espresso Caffe for keeping local artists on their walls.
Come to this cozy airy cafe if you can, see the work before it comes down on the 30th and enjoy their tasty wares.
Special thanks to Snaparazzi (and dancer) Julia Boynton for these pics of the good times.
